“Connected at the Heart: Meet Our Team”
Meet Leah: Birth & Postpartum Doula + Guest Specialist at Nurture
At Nurture, we believe that every member of our team brings something beautifully unique to the care we offer—and Leah is no exception. As a Birth and Postpartum Doula and our welcoming Guest Specialist, Leah’s presence is as grounding as it is uplifting. Her journey into birth work started with a moment of deep connection, and it’s only grown from there.
A Birth That Changed Everything
Leah’s path to becoming a doula started not in a classroom, but in a birthing room—her sister’s, to be exact. In 2019, she witnessed the birth of her nephew, an experience that completely transformed her perspective.
“Watching my sister give birth in her living room opened my eyes and heart to birth,” Leah shares. “I had no idea it could be beautiful, spiritual, inspiring—and calm. That moment shifted something inside me. My fear of labor turned into curiosity, and from that day forward, I gained such deep respect for laboring women. And I realized… birth is actually really cool!”
That spark stayed with her. In 2023, Leah became a certified birth and postpartum doula. Since then, she’s walked alongside women through some of the most sacred and powerful transitions of their lives—with calm confidence, gentle encouragement, and an open heart.
What She Does at Nurture
Leah wears two meaningful hats at Nurture, and both are centered around connection and care.
As a Birth and Postpartum Doula, she provides hands-on support during labor and the early days after birth. Whether it’s through physical comfort measures, emotional reassurance, or simply holding space during vulnerable moments, Leah shows up with compassion and intention. Her calm energy and intuitive approach help families feel supported, heard, and empowered every step of the way.
In her role as a Guest Specialist, Leah is often one of the first friendly faces our clients meet. She helps guide families through the prenatal experience here at Nurture—answering questions, helping clients feel at home, and ensuring they feel seen and celebrated during this joyful (and sometimes overwhelming!) time.
“I feel so honored to walk with people through such an important and fun part of their lives,” she says. “Whether it’s prepping for birth, sharing resources, or just offering a listening ear—this work is truly a privilege.”
Beyond Birth: Life with Leah
When she’s not supporting growing families, you’ll probably find Leah sipping on something delicious at a local coffee shop. She loves exploring new spots around Cincinnati, especially when she can settle in with a good book, her journal, or a heart-to-heart with a friend.
Nature also plays a big role in her life. Whether she’s hiking wooded trails, weeding in the garden, or just grounding herself barefoot in the grass, Leah finds peace and wisdom in the natural world.
“There’s so much to learn from nature,” she says. “It reminds me to slow down, stay present, and appreciate the beauty in simple things.”
Why Everyone Loves Leah
Leah brings a rare blend of warmth, wisdom, and wonder to everything she does. Her deep respect for the birthing process, her genuine care for each person she meets, and her passion for helping others feel safe and supported make her a truly special part of our team.
We’re so lucky to have her—and we think you’ll feel the same when you meet her, too.
