Free Perinatal Mental Health Resources & The Power of Community
Today I am sharing my go-to list for FREE perinatal mental health resources, but first I want to acknowledge how hard it can be to find the right kind of support when having a baby. New moms, often hear the phrase, “It takes a village.” And yet, in our modern, digital world, finding that village can be incredibly challenging. The postpartum period is a time of immense transformation, and we can’t do it alone. Our mental health thrives when we are supported by a community of people who understand, care, and share the journey with us. This is why we believe that one of the best free resources for your perinatal mental health is community—specifically, being with other moms who are on the same path.
Creating Community in a Digital World
Between the demands of caring for a new baby, navigating your own recovery, and the sheer exhaustion of it all, it can feel overwhelming to figure out where to start. That’s where Nurture’s Postpartum Mom’s Group comes in. We’ve designed a 6-week group for moms and babies that brings together women who are experiencing the joys and challenges of new motherhood. This group isn’t just about getting out of the house (although that alone can feel like a victory some days!)—it’s about building lasting connections, sharing wisdom, and supporting one another in a safe, welcoming environment.
What can you expect from the Nurtured Postpartum Mom’s Group?
• Weekly Topics for Discussion: Each session is centered around a key topic, ranging from baby care and sleep to self-care and mental health. We’ll talk about things like managing anxiety, setting boundaries, or just finding time to shower!
• Guest Experts: We invite professionals like lactation consultants, pediatricians, pelvic floor therapists, and more to share their expertise. They’ll offer practical advice and answer your questions, giving you the tools and confidence to navigate motherhood.
• A Sack Lunch Provided for You: We know how busy moms can be. So to make it a little easier, we provide a simple, healthy sack lunch each week. That way, you can focus on the group and yourself without worrying about what’s for lunch.
At the heart of it all is the sense of community. You’ll connect with other moms who “get it”—the sleepless nights, the worries, the joys, and the struggles. These connections can have a powerful impact on your mental well-being, helping to reduce feelings of isolation and overwhelm. Whether you need to vent, ask for advice, or celebrate a small win, you’ll have a circle of support right there with you.
We encourage you to join us and experience the uplifting power of community for your mental health. You don’t have to do this alone. There is a village waiting for you at Nurture. We can’t wait to welcome you and your baby!
